What if I told you that you could be completely accepted for who you really are? In this case, you would not have to alter your likes and dislikes to be loved. You would be embraced for everything that makes you the person you are right at this moment. I cannot speak for anybody but myself. Personally, I have felt alone in the things that make me the person that I am.
I enjoy sports, but I like things that are more on the girlier side. I do not mind getting messy, but it is important for me to feel clean at some point of the day. I am positive in my thinking towards others' situations, but I am hard on myself. I like being busy, but I like taking my time. I like light hearted discussions, but I thoroughly enjoy deeper conversations. I appreciate my time with others, but I do need time to myself. I could keep going, but I think you get my point.
It is hard for me to be myself because I feel like a lot of people fall on one side, but not often both sides. The problem is in these moments where I am timid of being myself I am forgetting that I can live with a new mindset in mind. I am wonderfully and purposely made like it says in Psalms 139. Better than that, I can be set free in knowing that God desires for all of us to live freely; instead of feeling like someone who has to fit into a certain mold. You can see that we are individually made if you look at our thumb prints, genetic code, looks, personalities, and so much more. None of us have to live in a cage. I believe that we all are meant to live in a manner that exudes more of a bird flying off into different and sometimes similar directions in the sky. We just cannot allow others or ourselves the power to clip our own wings. I say all these things from a heart that is struggling and learning about how to fly and be free in the truth that God is real and for us not against us. I pray that He will meet you where you are at, and help you see your own potential through His help. I truly believe that He loves us all for who we are, so anything that may make you different from the person or persons around you see it as something of high value, purpose, and importance. You are who you are for a reason.
